Hello Everyone

I grew up in the cold Midwest in Rockford, Illinois.  I began my journey into the field of Deaf education.  I earned my BA in Deaf Studies: Teacher Education at a wonderful place called MacMurray College, just down the road from Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) in Jacksonville, Illinois. ISD gave me all kinds of amazing learning opportunities into the Deaf world.  I realized I needed to focus on families.  I was off to Gallaudet University in Washington, DC for my MA in Family Center Early Education.   l left Gally and headed to Austin, Texas.  I was a Parent Infant teacher for 9 years.  My first beautiful son was born.  This lead to a switch into Video Relay at Sorenson.  All the while I finished up interpreter training and got my feet wet in churches, schools, hospitals, mental health, computer tech industry... you name it! 

I mention all this background because...I love to learn! There is tons more to learn. I wanted to share what I have learned. I realized other interpreters had a wealth of information in their amazing brains too! Thus, Terp Corner came to be a landing spot for all your wonderful resources.
